FAA Medical Certification

General Informatoin

For an ATPL FAA license, you need a FAA Class 1 medical certificate.

For a CPL FAA license, you need a FAA Class 2 medical certificate.

For a PPL FAA license and ULM license, you need a FAA Class 3 medical certificate.

You can contact Dr. Ciprian Albu for an initial examination or a renewal of class 1, 2, and 3.

For the class 1 examination, an ECG must be performed for both the initial and renewal examinations every two years.

For classes 1, 2, and 3, a physical examination, an eye examination, and a urine test are performed by Dr. Ciprian Albu.

Before your consultation by Dr. Ciprian Albu, you must complete FAA document 8500 via the FAA MedXPress website:

  • Go to: https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress/
  • Create an account.
  • Fill out the document and submit.
  • Write down your confirmation number or print it out and bring it with you.

Without an FAA MedXPress confirmation number, your application will not be processed and you will have to arrange this yourself on site.
